I have a few questions to ask you about your skin - if you are unsure of any of them - you need to read this post more than once!
There are many answers to this question, however, I feel that the most important reason is 'misdiagnosis'. What this means essentially is that you might think your skincare products aren't working because your skin is still oily or still dry or you are still getting wrinkles. BUT in fact what you have is DEHYDRATED SKIN!
Dehydrated skin simply put is skin lacking water, not oil (this is dry skin). So you can actually have an oily complexion but still have dehydrated skin. Dehydrated skin does not have enough water. Dehydration is caused by many external factors, but the most common are weather, environment, diet, and caffeine consumption, all of which can result in diminished water content within the skin.
And don't stress hydrated skin can be fixed - or at least it can become hydrated! Once you have actually identified that your skin is dehydrated here are some of the recommended treatments. I would like to draw your attention to the last one on the list: HYALURONIC ACID - this is what your skin needs to recover. I mean YES all the other factors will help but this ingredient is vital.
Hyaluronic Acid is a water-attracting ingredient like actually a famous superstar hydrator that can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Hyaluronic Acid helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles retaining moisture to the skin, creating a plumping effect. When the skin is protected and hydrated, increased skin cell production can take place, as the skin isn't busy fighting for hydration. This leads to smoother, plumper skin cells.

I kind of jumped the gun a little there - because I wanted you to know what was the most important point of this whole blog post - Hyaluronic Acid is so incredible it has changed my skin. But let's back up a little bit - so why do we need to exfoliate?
Exfoliation simply gets rid of the excess skin (dead skin) on the surface of your face allowing better penetration of your active ingredients found in moisturizers and serums. Be careful how often you do this - try every 2nd week it can be quite harsh on your skin (alert to sensitive skin here very important to check ingredients).
So.....about a serum OH. MY. GOSH. I used the one from AA Cosmetics and literally it made my skin feel great. In the beginning after application my skin went a little tight (and I was like vrek now what) but I just did some 'yoga' (haha right me Ms flexibility) and after about 5 minutes my skin was so soft and plump and happy.
What is so lovely about this range is it has a day/ night cream also containing HA+ (excuse me for being so fancy) so I used that as well (I will link it for you at the bottom of this post). And importantly when your skin is dehydrated the layers are broken/ damaged and serums are vital at repairing them.
I mean this is pretty unknown right (gosh my writing is up the tree today) - but seriously who can drink 2 vrek liters of water a day! I try but I do add lemon slices and mint leaves to make it taste better. But if you do have dehydrated skin please WATER IS A MUST!
